School Safety

School safety is taken very seriously by the administration at Fay and will be maintained at all costs.

*Gates are closed by 9:00 a.m. and are not reopened until the end of day bell has rung.
*ALL visitors must check in at the office and wear a name badge: NO EXCEPTIONS.
*Students will NOT be released to someone that is not on the registration card therefore you must keep it updated: NO EXCEPTIONS. Please do not get upset with us if you send a friend or relative to pick up your child and we do not release your child because the person is not on the registration card. Our responsiblity is to keep our students safe. It is your responsibility to keep the school informed.
*Kindergarten through second grade students are not allowed to walk home alone. Someone must pick them up: NO EXCEPTIONS.

***If you notice something that may be unsafe such as an open gate past 9:00 a.m. or a stranger around the school that looks suspicious, IMMEDIATELY report these issues to the office/administration. We cannot help or fix a situation if we do not know it is happening. ***

Crisis Response

Our school has a Crisis Response Box that includes a comprehensive school safety plan. Required by the state, the plan includes policies and procedures for responding to:

  • Disasters such as fire, earthquake, or situations requiring a lock down.
  • Serious disciplinary problems.
  • Child abuse.
  • Sexual harassment.

Practice drills are held every month to ensure that students will be safe in the event of a disaster.
